The Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad travels back in time to a view of the mountain only miners got to see. A 2 1/2 hour trip takes you above the valley through the mountains and trees. This is one the kids love because every seat in the house is great and they can move around. You can take advantage of the water tank stop to have a family picture moment. You can also book different theme rides during the year like the Wildflower Train with an experienced guide for a 20 minute hike through pine forests, aspen groves and open meadows. View a multitude of varieties of wildflowers at the water tower. There is also a Fall Foliage Train. This tour goes all the way up our line, an additional mile and a half, allowing you to see the sweeping vistas of the Arkansas River Valley. Get that special shot framed by Colorado's autumn beauty, make sure to bring your camera and your jacket! On the way back look for the forest animals and dont forget to pack snacks.
