Brooklyn Heights: The Brooklyn Heights Subdivision is located off US Hwy 24 about 1/4 mile south of the town of Leadville, Colorado. The small subdivision is located on Brooklyn Circle and up on the mountain above town. Within minutes you can drive into, through, and to the north side of town, making it extremely easy to access your favorite activity, event, or destination. You can see downtown and the entire length of Harrison Avenue, the main street through the center of town. You can get a feel of the layout of town by picking out a few structures like the National Mining Hall of Fame Museum on W. 9th Street and the steeple of St. George Episcopal Church located on the corner of W. 4th and Pine Street. All the properties offer awe inspiring views of the Rockies' highest peaks. You can see Turquoise Lake from some of the properties along with Mt Elbert and Mt Massive, the tallest mountains in the entire Rocky Mountain Range. Each side of the duplexes have their own large private and partially covered decks and garage. They all have a private Steam Sauna. All the homes overlook the Victorian Style town of Leadville which is about 70 square blocks. Around town there are plenty of restaurants, support and service businesses for all your activities. Just a few hundred yards south on US 24 is the Leadville Ranger Station. It's the best place to start for information and maps. Access to the Mineral Belt Trail is just across US-24. Back into town, north of the properties are Museums, Antique shops, Leiter Ice Skating Rink, Dutch Henry tubing hill, and the Tabor Opera House. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce Office for local proprietors information. On the outer edge of town is Safeway, Gas stations, and Liquor stores. Just 1.5 further south of the properties is the Leadville Fish Hatchery. A little further out of town is the Aquatic Center, Mount Massive Golf Course, Turquoise Lake, and Ski Cooper. Heading out of town in any direction is adventures such as scenic byways, white water rafting, bike touring, peak bagging, hiking, and back country jeeping just to mention a few.
Cielo Vista Mountain: Cielo Vista Wilderness Yurt is located on 18 acres of forested mining property in between Co RD. 9b and Trail 103. The driveway is off of Trail 103. You have great views of Mt. Elbert and Mt, Massive to the South. You can see several other 14ers also. You are about 3/4 of a mile from Turquoise Lake. There is private property to the west. Water is brought in during the summer via high clearance vehicle or snow melt for the winter. Winter access is by snowmobile, cross country skis, or snowshoes. There are solar lanterns and batteries for lights. It's a primitive setting, with wood stove and outhouse. This property is also located on the Leadville MTB 100 Course and has access to 30 miles of groomed track skiing and snowmobiling. Uncle Bud's Cabin, 10th Mountain Hut is located 3/4 of a mile up Co RD. 9b. There is a non motorized boat launching off Turquoise Lake road heading back into town called the Tabor Boat Launch. Camp grounds are all around the lake for RVs, campers, and tents. Turquoise lake road loops around for 15 miles with 2 exits/entrances, one at the Dam, one near US 24 or towards Safeway. Turquoise Lake road is closed to traffic in winter but has snowmobile and x-country ski access and a parking lot on the east side of the entrance. Water can be purchased at Sugar Loafin private campground for $3.00 any size container. There is a 6.4 mile Turquoise Lake Trail and 2 epic long trails, The Colorado Trail and The Continental Divide Trail. Both merge near Uncle Bud's Hut and can be accessed at the end of the lake. Safeway and town are 15 minutes away. Trail 103 can be used for ATV, OHV travel.
