The Capital Hill area overlooks downtown and Harrison Ave., the main thorough fare. Great views of the Sawatch, Ten Mile and Mosquito Ranges. Most of the homes are Victorian Style and are conveniently located within walking distance of downtown shops, restaurants, and all the seasonal events.
This is one of the best locations if your interest include Western and Leadville History. Capital Hill is considered part of downtown on the north west side. The Healy House, National Mining Museum, and the Pioneer Museum are a block or less away. You also have quick and easy access to the "National Acclaimed" Mineral Belt Trail, a ten mile multi-use trail that loop around town with historical markers for references. The Lake County Library is near by for any of your historical research needs. All of Leadville's downtown shops, restaurants, and seasonal activities/events are just a hop, skip, and jump away. There is a park close by for the kids to burn off any excess energy.
Heading south on SH-91 and US-24, The Capital Hill area is located off E. 10th Street. and includes about a 6 city blocks. From the north on US-24, the road turns left on Harrison Ave., through the heart of Leadville. Continue up Harrison Ave. and stay strait until you reach the top of the hill at E. 10th Street. This is the middle of Capital Hill.
